Volvo’s flagship EV sedan, the ES90, set to be unveiled in Sweden in March

A sneak peek of Volvo’s future electric sedan, the ES90, has ignited excitement among enthusiasts. The upcoming model is set to make its debut in March at an event in Stockholm, showcasing a sleek design reminiscent of Volvo’s existing S60 and S90 sedans but with a more defined rake.

Riding on Volvo’s SPA2 platform, the ES90 is poised to offer a battery capacity of approximately 111 kilowatt-hours, enabling a choice between single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. With a potential output exceeding 500 horsepower, the ES90 promises a thrilling driving experience.

Notably, the ES90 marks Volvo’s collaboration with the Shanghai engineering team, positioning it as the first global model developed under their leadership. Working alongside the team that created the Geely Galaxy E8 electric sedan, which boasts 637 horsepower and an impressive 478-mile range, the ES90 is anticipated to showcase cutting-edge technology and performance.

Initial reports suggest that the ES90 will measure 196.8 inches in length, 76 inches in width, with a 122-inch wheelbase. This makes it slightly longer than the S90 and S90L, hinting at a spacious and luxurious interior. The ES90 is expected to cater to the Chinese market, with a longer wheelbase compared to the EX90 SUV, offering a chauffeur special experience for discerning customers.

Overall, the ES90 sets a new benchmark for Volvo’s electric vehicle lineup, combining innovative engineering, sleek design, and exceptional performance to deliver a truly remarkable driving experience.
