On the other hand, West Virginia, Wyoming, Vermont, Montana, South Dakota, Alaska, Maine, North Dakota, Arkansas, and New Mexico were identified as the 10 least expensive states for car repairs.

Furthermore, the report highlighted that the rising prices of new cars have pushed consumers towards older used models, which often require more frequent repairs. Additionally, the increasing complexity of newer vehicles, with advanced driver assistance systems and tech features, has added to the overall repair costs.

NetCredit utilized data from RepairPal to compare the costs of the top 10 most common car repairs for a sample 2021 Honda Accord. While individual vehicle costs may vary, there are several practices that consumers can adopt to minimize repair expenses, including regular maintenance, safe driving habits, and knowing when to consider retiring an older vehicle to avoid escalating repair bills.
