Lotus is gearing up to launch the Eletre SUV in the U.S., catering to customers looking for a high-performance electric family ride. The Eletre will be available in two variants for the U.S. market – the entry-level and R models, both featuring a dual-motor configuration with a 111.9-kWh battery and 800-volt architecture for rapid fast-charging capabilities. The mid-range Eletre S, which is offered in some markets, will not be available in the U.S. due to the preference of American buyers for a high level of standard features. The starting prices for the Eletre models are as follows:
– Eletre: $107,000
– Eletre R: $145,000
The Eletre model boasts a combined power output of 603 horsepower and 710 pound-feet of torque, accelerating the SUV from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 160 mph. On the other hand, the Eletre R model generates a combined 905 hp and 985 lb-ft of torque, propelling the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.95 seconds with a top speed of 165 mph. To ensure efficient braking performance, the base model comes equipped with six-piston calipers on the front discs, while the R model features 10-piston calipers.
Both models offer a range of luxury features including seven customizable interior screens, KEF audio system, adaptive suspension, and an advanced ADAS suite powered by Nvidia chips that process data from 12 cameras, 18 radar units, and four LIDAR arrays.
In a recent First Drive review, the Lotus Eletre left a lasting impression, sparking curiosity and anticipation among automotive enthusiasts. With its competitive pricing, the Eletre joins the ranks of sports-focused luxury SUVs, competing against models like the Porsche Macan 4 EV, Maserati Grecale Folgore, Audi Q8 Sportback E-Tron, and Genesis Electrified GV70.
