La Squadra x Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail Retro Tailcone Design

La Squadra, a luxurious supercar dealer in Poland, offers a wide array of exclusive automotive brands for enthusiasts, ranging from Bugatti and Koenigsegg to Pagani and Singer, as well as more accessible options like Ferrari and Maserati. In a unique collaboration with Zagato, they have introduced a special edition Alpine model called the La Squadra x Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail, which pays homage to a noteworthy chapter in Alpine’s history.

The inspiration for the AGTZ Twin Tail comes from the Alpine A220, a prototype sports racer that aimed to compete in the higher 3.0-liter class at Le Mans in 1968. Despite facing challenges and reliability issues, the A220 played a pivotal role in Alpine’s racing legacy before the brand shifted its focus to rallying.

Starting with the Alpine A110 R as the base, which boasts a potent 296 horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, Zagato redesigned the AGTZ Twin Tail by incorporating carbon fiber body panels, enhancing the aerodynamic profile, and adding unique styling elements reminiscent of the A220. The standout feature of the Twin Tail is its removable tailcone, which transforms the vehicle into a striking piece of automotive art.

Debuting at Villa d’Este in Lake Como, the AGTZ Twin Tail is a limited production model with only 19 units planned for production, each priced at €650,000 ($705,239 U.S.). Deliveries are slated for October and will include a custom stand for the tail when not in use, making it a truly exclusive offering for discerning collectors and automotive enthusiasts.
