Explore Ferrari’s immaculate new ‘e-building’ factory with a virtual video tour

MARANELLO, Italy — Ferrari’s new production site in Maranello will be a game changer for the luxury sports carmaker, focusing on enhancing manufacturing flexibility and accelerating the development of new models. The CEO, Benedetto Vigna, highlighted that the investment of approximately 200 million euros ($214 million) will prioritize innovation and efficiency over increasing production output.

One of the most significant developments at the e-building will be Ferrari’s foray into fully electric (EV) vehicles, with the first EV car expected to hit the market by the end of next year. Vigna emphasized that the new facility will streamline the time-to-market process for new models, ensuring quicker product development cycles.

Contrary to focusing solely on volume, Ferrari aims to maximize the value of each car, emphasizing a strategy of generating more revenue per vehicle. The company sees personalized touches as a crucial element in expanding their sales revenue, catering to the unique preferences of individual customers both externally and internally.

The new 42,500 square meter facility will not only house additional car assembly lines but also produce key components such as axles, motors, and battery assembly for EVs. Ferrari’s commitment to technological neutrality will enable the plant to adapt swiftly to produce hybrid, fully electric, and traditional combustion-engine models to cater to diverse customer needs.

With the inauguration of the new production site, Ferrari anticipates an increase in its theoretical output capacity to around 20,000 cars per year, positioning the company for strategic growth in the luxury sports car market. The facility’s operational efficiency will allow Ferrari to optimize production activities across its existing Maranello facilities and respond promptly to changing production demands.

Scheduled to commence production in January of next year, the new plant signifies Ferrari’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement in the automotive industry. The rollout of Ferrari’s first EV series production is slated to begin in January 2026, marking a new era for the iconic luxury sports car brand.
