Customized Ford F-150 Lightning Set to Conquer Pikes Peak

Ford Performance is gearing up to take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2024 with an exciting new entry: a customized F-150 Lightning. Unlike your typical workhorse truck, this F-150 Lightning has been transformed into a formidable racing machine, with a sleeker and wider profile that hints at high performance.

Although specific technical details are still under wraps, one thing is for sure – this F-150 Lightning is no ordinary pickup truck. With its lowered stance and aggressive aerodynamics, it’s clear that Ford has something special in store for this year’s race. While we can only speculate about the drivetrain and power output, previous Ford Performance entries – like the 1,400-horsepower SuperVan – give us a taste of what to expect.

One of the major advantages of electric vehicles in events like the Pikes Peak hill climb is the consistent performance regardless of altitude changes. With the summit reaching over 14,000 feet, gasoline-powered cars face significant challenges that electric vehicles, with their instant torque and altitude-insensitive motors, don’t have to worry about.

As Ford continues to tease us with glimpses of the F-150 Lightning, racing enthusiasts can look forward to more details being revealed in the coming months. Qualifying rounds will be held from June 18 to June 20, with the main race scheduled for June 23. Keep an eye out for the number 150 as the electrifying F-150 Lightning takes on the legendary Pikes Peak course.
