Engine Whine with RPM Troubleshooting – Here’s How to Test for Bearing or Accessory Noise

In this video, I demonstrate how to remove the serpentine belt from your vehicle in order to identify an engine noise that occurs during acceleration or changes in RPM. This noise could be caused by various components in the vehicle, but taking out the belt can help determine if it’s related to a faulty bearing or part in systems like the alternator, water pump, AC compressor, power steering pump, or idler pulley. If the noise disappears after removing the belt, it suggests that a component is faulty and not spinning properly without the belt. In my case, the issue was with a cheap Ultima alternator from O’Reilly Auto Parts.
