Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Golden Coast Pays Homage to the Riviera

If you find yourself in Germany and are unable to afford a Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed roadster, don’t fret – there is another option to consider. Introducing the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Golden Coast, a more budget-friendly alternative based on the same model as the PureSpeed. What sets the Manufaktur Golden Coast apart is its inclusion of a roof, making it a practical choice for those who prefer a bit of shelter while driving.

In a nod to the sunny shores of California, the Manufaktur division has meticulously crafted a stunning Kalahari Gold Magno exterior paint finish, complemented by luxurious gold accents throughout the interior. Black Nappa leather AMG Performance seats feature gold topstitching in a diamond quilt pattern, while the steering wheel rim is wrapped in Nappa leather secured by gold stitching. Even the floor mats are adorned with black leather and highlighted by gold topstitching. The Kalahari Gold Magno trim and the Manufaktur Golden Coast badge on the center console complete the upscale look.

On the exterior, black dominates the design, with standard equipment including the AMG Night Package Exterior, AMG Night Package Exterior II, and AMG Aerodynamic Package. These packages feature black chrome Mercedes badging, grille fins, and tailpipe finishers, along with various gloss black accents on the A-wing, front splitter, mirror caps, and more. The menacing look is further enhanced by matte black 21-inch AMG forged wheels with matching black brake calipers, while the wheel rims and hub centers are a striking Kalahari Gold Magno.

Under the hood, the powerful twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 delivers a robust 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque through the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, providing exhilarating performance on the road.

While the official pricing has not been released, a standard AMG SL 63 4Matic+ starts at €194,654.25 ($210,447 U.S.) in Germany. Adding the Manufaktur option, two Night Packages, and the Aerodynamic Package brings the total cost to €211,135.75 ($228,266 U.S.), not including additional extras like the €4,000 wheels. With only 100 units planned for production, exclusivity comes at a premium, and interested buyers should anticipate a starting price of around €250,000 ($270,283 U.S.) for this limited-edition model. So, why not indulge in luxury and performance with the top down – ja?
