The same trend seems to be continuing with the upcoming Renault 4. First showcased as a concept in Paris over a year ago, spy photos reveal that the production model is staying true to the original design.

Although there is a noticeable change from the concept, with the production-style prototype featuring a more narrow and road-oriented design, the distinctive retro lines of the Renault 4 are still prominent. The unique greenhouse with arched sections for the doors and slanting rear quarter windows, along with the flat nose, horizontal hood, and LED interpretation of the round headlights, all pay homage to the original car’s design. The wheels have been toned down from the concept’s cyberpunk style but still accentuate the boxy nature of the vehicle.

The Renault 4 will be based on the CMF-BEV platform, shared with the Renault 5.
