New technology and audio upgrades lead to price increase for 2025 Acura MDX

Acura recently unveiled the 2025 MDX, setting the stage for the flagship crossover’s upcoming debut at dealerships. The brand has now provided pricing details, showing an increase ranging from $850 to $1,550, including a $100 bump in the destination charge, now set at $1,350. The MSRPs for the latest MDX models, factoring in the destination charge and comparing with the 2024 prices, are as follows:

– Base FWD: $52,250 ($850 increase)
– Base SH-AWD: $54,450 ($850 increase)
– Technology Package FWD: $57,650 ($1,550 increase)
– Technology Package SH-AWD: $59,850 ($1,550 increase)
– A-Spec SH-AWD: $62,850 ($1,050 increase)
– Advance Package SH-AWD: $67,350 ($2,000 increase)
– A-Spec Advance SH-AWD: $69,350 (New trim)
– Type S Advance SH-AWD: $76,300 ($1,250 increase)

What do these price changes mean for customers? The extra cost now provides an upgraded infotainment system featuring Google built-in, replacing the previous Acura True Touchpad interface with a much easier to use 12.3-inch touchscreen. With Google built-in, users can access an improved version of Google Maps and various apps from the Google Play store, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the center console now boasts a wide, shallow bin and a convenient wireless phone charger. Other upgrades include a new Bang & Olufsen sound system with 19 or 31 speakers (excluding base trims), enhanced AcuraWatch driver assistance technology, increased soundproofing, and rear laminated glass on most models. Visually, there are subtle exterior changes like revised lower fascias, new grille inserts, and updated wheel designs.

For long-time MDX enthusiasts, there are some hidden gems to discover. For instance, the 2025 Advance trim pays homage to the third-gen MDX by incorporating body-colored skirting instead of the black skirting seen on previous models.

The lineup now includes a new A-Spec with the Advance Package, blending sporty aesthetics with luxury features like 16-way power front seats, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera. This new trim also introduces quilted leather seats previously reserved for the Type S. Speaking of which, the Type S trim no longer offers a base version without the Advance Package, resulting in a $6,600 price increase to access the Type S features. The A-Spec Advance price point falls just below the retired base Type S trim, featuring quilted leather seats, while the Type S Advance trim showcases soft-touch Milano leather seats to distinguish itself from the trim below.
