New Design Language Spotted on Aston Martin DBS Coupe

Aston Martin is currently in a phase of exciting updates and redesigns for its range of two-door sports cars and grand tourers. After the recent launch of the new Vantage and the testing of the upcoming DB12, the ultra-high-end DBS is now in the spotlight.

The previous generation of the DBS concluded with the limited-production DBS 770 Ultimate, paving the way for the next generation models. The new DBS, expected to be available in coupe and convertible Volante versions, is anticipated to share design elements with the DB12, including a wide, slotted grille and new LED headlight modules.

Under the camouflage, the hood of the test car hints at the continuation of the V12 engine, likely an updated version of the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 from the outgoing DBS. This engine choice will differentiate the DBS from the DB12, which now only offers a twin-turbo V8.

While the side profile maintains some familiarity, the camouflaged areas suggest new sheet metal and rear design elements. A revised quad exhaust design, rear bumper, and diffuser are visible, hinting at a refreshed rear-end appearance.

The most significant changes are expected to be found inside the DBS. Following the trend set by the DB12 and Vantage, the interior is likely to feature a new center stack, Aston Martin-designed infotainment, digital gauge cluster, and updated center console. These enhancements will bring the DBS up to speed with modern automotive interiors.

Aston has not confirmed the official unveiling date for the new DBS, but based on the advanced stage of the prototype, a launch in 2024 seems plausible. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting addition to Aston Martin’s lineup.
