Lexus Unveils RZ 450e F Sport Performance at Tokyo Auto Salon

Lexus has unveiled the RZ 450e F Sport Performance special edition model at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, showcasing a sporty-looking electric crossover that is limited to just 100 total vehicles for sale in Japan. While this special edition model won’t be available in other markets, it offers a unique look and some performance upgrades that are worth exploring.

Starting with the AWD 450e version of the RZ, the F Sport Performance model does not see an increase in horsepower and torque compared to the standard model. However, it does benefit from improved handling, thanks to new dampers and springs that have been tested on the track at Toyota’s Shimoyama Technical Center. Additionally, unique 21-inch wheels are added to enhance the vehicle’s appearance and performance.

Lexus has integrated a total of 17 new aero parts into the F Sport Performance model, creating a distinctive and aggressive design. The most striking feature is the double carbon fiber wing setup, comprising one wing mounted on the roof and a second wing from the rear hatch. This unique design is complemented by a carbon fiber splitter, vented hood, and additional aero elements around the wheels to improve aerodynamics.

The exterior of the F Sport Performance is finished in a new matte paint color called Hakugin, which is described as white-silver and inspired by the silent silver world of light and shadow. The interior features black Ultrasuede seats with blue stitching and blue trim throughout the dashboard and other parts of the cabin.

For customers in Japan, Lexus is offering the RZ 450e F Sport Performance through a lottery system with only 100 units available. The price of this special edition model, when converted from Japanese yen to U.S. dollars, is just under $82,000.
