Prototypes of the new 2024 Porsche Macan have been previously test driven, but now we have more detailed information about this exciting new model. Featuring dual motors, all-wheel drive, and impressive power, the Macan offers exceptional performance. It’s important to note that the electric version comes with a higher price tag compared to the gas version, but the power and performance it delivers make it a compelling investment.
The Macan 4 is the entry-level model, boasting a pair of motors that can deliver up to 402 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in Launch Control mode with overboost. This translates to a 0-60 mph time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 136 mph. On the other hand, the Macan Turbo, the top-tier model, offers a combined 630 horsepower and 833 pound-feet of torque, propelling the car from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 161 mph. Both variants come standard with adaptive air suspension, while rear-wheel steering is available as an option, marking a first for the Macan.
In terms of battery performance, the Macan is equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack, utilizing an 800-volt architecture capable of fast charging speeds up to 270 kW. With a 400-volt charger, speeds drop to 135 kW. Porsche claims that the Macan can achieve a charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes using an 800-volt charger. Range information is yet to be announced.
The electric Macan has a larger footprint compared to its gas-powered counterpart, boasting impressive aerodynamics with a coefficient of drag of just 0.25. The interior of the Macan resembles that of the Taycan, offering a modern and sleek design with a spacious cargo area and frunk. The 2024 Porsche Macan comes with a starting price of $80,450 for the Macan 4 and $106,950 for the Macan Turbo. Orders are now being accepted, with deliveries expected in the second half of this year. This new electric SUV from Porsche is set to raise performance standards in the luxury electric vehicle market.
