Kia unveils futuristic 2025 EV3 with sleek design and advanced interior technology

Kia has unveiled its latest addition to the electric car lineup, the EV3 subcompact crossover. Derived from a concept first introduced in October 2023, the EV3 boasts a sleek exterior design and a modern interior loaded with advanced technology.

Drawing inspiration from the larger EV9, the EV3 features a grille-less front end, vertical headlights, and distinctive LED daytime running lights known as Star Map. With unique design elements such as punched-out wheel arches and an upright rear end, the EV3 shares a visual connection with its larger sibling.

Measuring in at approximately 169 inches in length, 73 inches in width, and 61 inches in height, the EV3 offers a compact yet spacious interior. Updates from the concept model include conventional rear doors and an interior layout designed to resemble a cozy living room, complete with a folding table in the center console.

Internationally, buyers can choose between two lithium-ion battery options for the EV3: a 58.3-kilowatt-hour battery for the base model and an 81.4-kilowatt-hour battery for the Long Range trim. Both configurations are powered by a 201-horsepower electric motor delivering 209 pound-feet of torque.

Equipped with the same E-GMP platform as other Kia and Hyundai electric vehicles, the EV3 can potentially offer all-wheel-drive with a dual-motor setup. The Long Range model is estimated to achieve up to 372 miles of range on the WLTP testing cycle, with EPA range figures and standard model range yet to be released.

In terms of technology, the EV3 boasts a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, allowing users to power external devices with the vehicle’s battery. The infotainment system features access to entertainment services and Kia’s AI Assistant technology.

Scheduled to launch in South Korea in July 2024, followed by a European release, the US market availability for the EV3 is currently unconfirmed. Kia remains hopeful for a stateside debut based on positive initial reception.
