‘Kia teases EV6 refresh with stunning ‘Star Map’ lighting feature’

Aside from Kia’s upcoming EV3, EV4, and EV5 models, the automaker is also working on refreshing its original battery-electric vehicle for the U.S. market, the EV6. Demonstrating Kia’s dedication to electric vehicles, the EV6, which was introduced less than three years ago as a 2022 model, is set to receive an updated look to align with the brand’s latest design language.

The refreshed EV6 will feature Star Map lighting at the front and back, incorporating the sleek and angular LED lighting design found across Kia’s lineup. The new design will showcase a simple, sharp C-shaped bracket and a body-colored spar that enhances the vehicle’s dynamic appearance.

At the rear, a thinner light bar will span the width of the vehicle, complementing the front design with the signature Star Map notches and hooks.

Following Hyundai’s update to the Ioniq 5 with a larger battery for extended range, it is expected that the EV6 will also receive a battery upgrade for improved performance. The entry-level Light RWD trim is likely to retain its 58.0-kWh battery.

While minor interior changes may be in the works, the original EV6 cabin has stood the test of time against newer EV models. Despite some requests for a rear window wiper, it appears unlikely to be included in this refresh.

The debut of the refreshed EV6 is expected soon, with the updated model likely to arrive as a 2025 model.
