iSeeCars has conducted extensive research to identify the best new cars for the money, taking into consideration factors such as lifespan and purchase price. The top choice on their list is the Mitsubishi Mirage, which costs just $1,099 per 10,000 miles to own, with an average new price of $18,991. This makes it one of the most affordable cars on the market.
In addition to the Mirage, other vehicles that offer excellent value for the money include the Toyota Corolla, Subaru Impreza, Honda Accord, and Honda Civic. Interestingly, three Toyotas and three Hondas made it to the top 10, with Toyota having a total of seven cars in the top 25.
The research from iSeeCars focused specifically on vehicle lifespan and purchase price, explaining the inclusion of the Mirage at the top of the list due to its 100,000-mile powertrain warranty and surprisingly low MSRP. This makes it a cost-effective option for many consumers, even if it means sacrificing some comfort, features, and performance.
To arrive at these findings, iSeeCars analyzed over 8.3 million new car sales from September to December and also reviewed odometer readings on more than 181 million used cars. This comprehensive approach allowed them to pinpoint the models that offer the best longevity and value for money in the current automotive market.
