If you’re in the market, we have a bundle of six identical Ford Pinto Wagons available for purchase

If the six-Porsche collection known as “Toys for Boys” from a U.K. climate-controlled garage isn’t quite exciting enough for you, perhaps you’ll find interest in a unique six-Pinto collection located in Hacienda Heights, California. These 2-door wagons, resembling shooting brakes, all sport a classic 1970s pale yellow hue.

The ad for these Pintos on Facebook Marketplace is brief, offering minimal details about the collection’s background. The seller mentions that the cars are of varying years and claims to have recently gotten half of them running. This means that you’ll be purchasing three operational Pinto Wagons, along with three project cars to work on.

Unlike the high-end Porsches previously mentioned, all the Pintos in this collection come equipped with manual transmissions. The interiors are described as clean, and the mileage on these vehicles ranges from 23,000 to 70,000. Despite their age, the black vinyl interiors have held up well in the Southern California climate.

According to experts at Barn Finds, these Pintos are believed to be from the 1973-74 model years and would have been powered by a 2.0- or 2.3-liter inline-four engine producing around 86 horsepower. Back in 1974, a new Pinto Wagon would have cost around $2,775. In 2024, the seller is asking for $16,000 or best offer for each car.

The Ford Pinto gained notoriety due to a recall related to potential fuel tank issues that could lead to fires during rear impacts. The “Pinto Memo,” revealing Ford’s calculations on the costs of a recall versus potential human lives lost, shocked the nation. Legal battles followed with high-profile cases and significant punitive damages awarded in some instances.

Despite the recall and legal outcomes, the Pinto’s reputation suffered irreparable damage. It became a symbol of controversy and negligence in automotive history. However, these Pintos for sale could find a new purpose in a Hollywood production, where multiple identical cars are often needed for stunts or modifications in period pieces.
