Hyundai Unveils N Performance Parts for Ioniq 5 at Tokyo Auto Salon

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is already a high-performance EV with 641 horsepower, upgraded chassis, suspension, and brakes. However, Hyundai has exciting plans to release aftermarket parts for the Ioniq 5 N to cater to those looking for even more. The NPX1 concept previewed at the Tokyo Auto Salon showcases these aftermarket parts designed to beef up the Ioniq 5 N even further.

Named “N Performance eXperimental 1”, the NPX1 concept features aggressive bodywork including a large front splitter with tall endplates, deep side skirts with rear air intakes, and a massive rear diffuser. The concept also boasts a rear wing reminiscent of a race car and sits on wheels that combine alloy spokes and carbon fiber rims.

In addition to the cosmetic upgrades, Hyundai is also developing performance-enhancing components such as more aggressive brake pads and lowering springs. Inside, the NPX1 concept features Alcantara upholstery and sporty bucket seats to further enhance the driving experience.

Hyundai plans to make these aftermarket parts available sometime this year specifically for the Ioniq 5 N. This will be the first model to receive factory aftermarket parts, with plans to extend these offerings to Hyundai’s entire N range. Additionally, Hyundai is working towards offering software upgrades that can modify artificial motor noises and potentially recalibrate the throttle and motors, sparking speculation about potential power upgrades. It will be interesting to see if these aftermarket parts will also be made available for N Line models in the future.

In conclusion, the future of performance from Hyundai looks promising with the introduction of these aftermarket parts, offering customers a way to further personalize and enhance the performance of their vehicles.
