The 2025 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and the battery-electric 2024 i4 (only available in Gran Coupe form) have been unveiled, showcasing subtle design updates from the Munich studio. The new kidney grille surrounds now come in matte chrome as standard on most trims, with the optional M Sport Package offering a choice of finishes. The headlights have been redesigned, featuring a single LED module and a new DRL design that activates a “welcome” animation when the keyholder approaches within 10 feet of the car.
The top-tier M440i and i4 M50 models come equipped with Full LED Headlights, which are optional on lower trims as part of the Shadowline Package. Additionally, both models now feature Laserlight taillights previously seen on the BMW M4 CSL, along with high-gloss black kidney grille surrounds.
Under the hood, the 4 Series GC boasts four- and six-cylinder engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has seen enhancements, maintaining its 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque output. The 3.0-liter inline-six engine benefits from an 11-hp boost from the 48V system, resulting in 386 horsepower, surpassing the current M440i’s power output. The xDrive version of the 2025 M440i can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
New wheel options, including a two-color, 20-inch BMW Individual Aero rims, and fresh palette colors like Cape York Green Metallic and Red Metallic, enhance the exterior aesthetics of the vehicles.
Inside, the cabin receives a significant overhaul with the latest tech features and trim enhancements. The standard steering wheel has been updated, and the BMW Operating System 8.5 offers a seamless user experience. The navigation system now allows EV drivers to choose preferred charging stations and monitor charger availability.
Material upgrades include a smoother Sensatec upholstery on the instrument panel and seats, complemented by a range of luxurious leather options and new trim finishes like M Fine Brushed Aluminum and open-pore wood varieties.
Production of the 2025 4 Series Gran Coupe and 2024 i4 will commence in July, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch date.
