The updated Audi Q5 boasts stylish new looks and enhanced engine performance

A significant portion of global Audi Q5 sales, 44%, are made in America, with Europe accounting for another 35%. This high demand in key markets highlights the importance of offering top-quality versions of this popular model. The Audi Q5 has been completely redesigned, incorporating a brand-new platform known as Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). Although specific dimensions have not been released, we can anticipate that the overall footprint and interior space will remain largely unchanged.

Visually, the new Audi Q5 features a more aggressive design compared to its predecessors, drawing inspiration from the sleek 2025 A5 model that also utilizes the PPC platform. The front end boasts narrow, angled headlights flanking a wide singleframe grille, with a lower intake connecting side intakes for a more dynamic appearance. The rear of the vehicle is highlighted by a light bar that runs across the hatch, incorporating innovative OLED elements that can flash signals to following drivers. Additionally, a larger CHMSL on the spoiler enhances visibility during braking.

Inside, the Audi Q5 offers upgraded interior materials, including new sustainable fabrics and textiles to elevate the overall quality. The Virtual Cockpit has been replaced with the new Digital Stage, combining an 11.9-inch gauge screen with a 14.5-inch center display. The driver can also benefit from an optional head-up display that covers 85% more area and a 10.9-inch screen for the passenger, providing navigation and media control features. Furthermore, a cooled wireless charging tray and multiple USB ports, including one capable of charging a laptop, cater to modern connectivity needs.

Under the hood, Audi’s European specifications hint at improved engine options for the U.S. market. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged engine sees a power bump to 201 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque, while the SQ5 variant receives a 3.0-liter V6 producing 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Mild-hybrid technology will be available on non-PHEV engines, providing short bursts of additional power. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be standard across all models, promising enhanced performance and efficiency.

In terms of driving dynamics, the Audi Q5 benefits from redesigned steering and suspension systems aimed at improving comfort and agility. Buyers can choose from standard steel springs, optional air springs, or adaptive dampers to tailor the driving experience. Wheel sizes will range from 17 to 21 inches, depending on the market.

European customers can already place orders for the new Audi Q5, with deliveries expected early next year. The U.S. pricing details will be announced closer to the launch date, with additional variants like the plug-in hybrid and Sportback models to follow.
