GMC and Chevy have been hard at work developing off-road versions of their Sierra EV and Silverado EV pickup trucks, known as the AT4 and Trail Boss models. New spy photos have emerged, providing us with the best glimpse yet of these highly anticipated vehicles. These images not only showcase the updated body design but also offer a detailed look at the tires, revealing their size and type.
When examining the exterior of these off-road trim levels, some distinct features stand out. Both trucks sport vibrant red recovery hooks at the front, adding to their rugged appearance. While the overall profile of the trucks remains similar to their base counterparts, there are subtle differences such as the front bumpers and fender flares. The GMC showcases body-colored fender flares with integrated marker lights, while the Silverado opts for natural black plastic flares. Additionally, both trucks come equipped with standard side steps and retain their original rear bumpers, which include the innovative MultiPro/Multi-Flex tailgate.
One significant upgrade on these models is the wheels and tires. Each truck boasts unique wheel designs, but they share the same dimensions – 18-inch wheels paired with 285/75R18 Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT all-terrain tires. These tires measure just under 35 inches in diameter, ideal for off-roading activities. Despite their large size, they complement the trucks well. In contrast, the gas-powered trucks come standard with slightly narrower (275) mud-terrain tires.
While pricing details have yet to be officially confirmed, it is expected that both the Trail Boss and Sierra EV AT4 models will fall above the Silverado WT’s starting price of around $80,000. Speculation suggests that the trucks may offer dual motors, with the Silverado potentially delivering 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque, and the Sierra EV boasting more powerful motors producing 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, a 204-kWh battery pack is probable, although rumors hint at the possibility of a smaller, more affordable 170-kWh pack as an option. As we eagerly await further details, it appears that both these off-road trucks are nearing completion and will soon make their debut on the market.
