Jerry Seinfeld’s upcoming Netflix comedy, “Unfrosted,” will be taking center stage this weekend at the Long Beach IndyCar race. As part of a unique promotional partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing and American Legion, rookie Linus Lundqvist will be driving a car painted to resemble an unfrosted Pop-Tart, featuring images of Seinfeld and the movie cast.
The movie, marking Seinfeld’s directorial debut, is a collaborative effort with stars like Jim Gaffigan, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, and others. Set in 1963 Michigan, “Unfrosted” explores the era before Pop-Tarts were introduced to the public.
Seinfeld’s vision for a Pop-Tart film goes back to 2018, drawing inspiration from the sugary culture of Kellogg’s cereal in mid-60s Battle Creek. The partnership with Ganassi Racing and American Legion aims to raise awareness for the movie’s May 3 release while supporting American veterans through the Legion’s mental health initiatives.
