Morgan’s latest special model, the Midsummer, takes a departure from its off-road CX-T and focuses on providing a luxurious driving experience on paved roads. Collaborating with renowned Italian design firm Pininfarina, the Midsummer showcases a sleek design with unique enhancements for both aesthetics and functionality.
Based on Morgan’s CX line of bonded aluminum-chassis sports cars, the Midsummer features a distinct grille with vents inspired by the Super 3, a front spoiler to reduce lift, and polished stainless steel accents on the exterior. The elongated tail adds a touch of art-deco style, while the hand-formed aluminum body undergoes meticulous craftsmanship that takes 250 hours to complete. The car is equipped with 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, which are lighter than the standard wheels used on the Plus Six.
The standout features of the Midsummer include its cut-down windshield and exquisite teak wood panels on the dash and above the doors. The interior boasts unique analog dials, a forged aluminum steering wheel, and luxurious oxblood leather upholstery that complements the off-white paint scheme. While the shifter may seem out of place, it is a necessary component as the Midsummer is powered by a BMW powertrain, specifically a turbocharged inline-six engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Limited to only 50 units, production of the Morgan Midsummer will start in the third quarter of the year and is expected to conclude next year. Prospective buyers interested in customizing their Midsummer are encouraged to contact Morgan to discuss design options.
