A Tribute to the Origins: The Last Bugatti Chiron

The Bugatti Chiron has reached the end of its production run. Introduced in 2016 and limited to just 500 units worldwide, this powerful W16-powered coupe made its mark by setting a record-breaking top speed and spawning various models. The last Chiron, named “L’Ultime” which means “the last one” in French, was completed in May 2024, marking the end of an era for this iconic model. Despite bidding farewell to the Chiron, Bugatti is gearing up to reveal its highly anticipated successor.

“L’Ultime” pays homage to the original Chiron displayed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, featuring a unique livery blending Atlantic Blue and French Racing Blue with hand-polished aluminum accents. The exclusive color scheme extends to the wheels and a specially crafted blue Bugatti emblem adorns the grille. The final Chiron also pays tribute to key locations that played a pivotal role in its development, such as Paul Ricard, Geneva, and Ehra-Lessien.

In addition to the distinctive exterior details, the interior of L’Ultime showcases Deep Blue leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim, and thematic stitching in the colors of the French flag. Noteworthy design elements include “500/500” logos on the center caps and “#500” markings ahead of each wheel arch, denoting the final numbered unit requested by a discerning customer.

While the whereabouts of the last Chiron remain uncertain, enthusiasts can expect Bugatti’s next chapter to unfold soon. With plans to introduce a new V16 engine developed in-house in lieu of the W16 powerplant, the upcoming successor is poised to embrace hybrid technology for enhanced performance. Stay tuned for more details from Bugatti, under the ownership of Rimac, as they continue to redefine automotive excellence.
