2024 Chevy Traverse Limited available for purchase alongside new 2024 Traverse model

The UAW strike has played a role in the second-generation Chevrolet Traverse’s extension into the 2024 model year, now known as the 2024 Traverse Limited. This move prevents confusion with the all-new third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse, and ensures a consistent flow of vehicles to dealers without changing prices. Similar actions were taken with other vehicles such as the Chevy Silverado and the Malibu Classic in the past. An automaker spokesperson has confirmed that the Traverse Limited will only be available for a short period before the new SUV arrives in early 2024.

In the U.S., the 2024 Chevy Traverse will see a rationalization of the LT trims, now offered as LT Cloth and LT Leather, both with cloth as standard equipment and leather as an option. Meanwhile, in Canada, trims remain the same, but all-wheel drive is now the only choice. The starting prices, including the destination charge, are as follows:

LS: $35,915
LT: $38,440
RS: $46,440
Premier: $48,595
High Country: $53,395

All 2024 Traverse and Traverse Limited models are equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The upcoming third-generation 2024 Traverse is expected to see price increases in line with expectations for a new and improved model. The new Traverse will feature a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque, exceeding GM’s initial estimates from the Traverse debut. The reported MSRPs, including the destination charge, for the third-generation 2024 Traverse are as follows:

LS: $38,995
LT: $41,395
Z71: $47,795 (New)
RS: $55,595

The changes from the 2023 Traverse are indicated in parentheses. The RS trim being the top trim revealed so far, it remains to be seen whether it will absorb part of the current Premier and High Country feature set, or if there will be further changes to the trim lineup. Stay tuned for official numbers and information from Chevrolet.
