While Irvine likened it to being hit over the head with a cricket bat every two weeks, Perez made light of the comparison, stating that the challenge posed by Verstappen is a “great challenge” and one he is looking forward to.

Entering into his fourth season with the team and with his contract ending this season, Perez is aware of the competition for his position. He emphasizes that he has more to give and is still motivated to perform well on the track for Red Bull.
